The Priority Services Register
This is a free service provided by energy suppliers, water companies and network operators to customers in need. This can include:
Advance notice of planned power cuts – important if you are medically reliant on your supply.
Priority support in an emergency – alternative heating and cooking facilities can be provided.
Special identification scheme for callers at your home so you know they are genuine.
Nominee scheme – customers can ask their supplier to send their letters or bills to a nominated person who has agreed to receive them.
Help with meter reading
Communication in accessible formats, e.g. Braille, large print, CD
Contact your supplier directly to register.
You can receive the service if you:
- Are of pensionable age
- Are disabled or have a long term health condition
- Have a hearing or visual impairment or communication needs
- Are in a vulnerable situation
